Why in News?

  • Raimona National Park has been in the news due to conservation efforts in the Manas Conservation Landscape and its importance as a habitat of the Golden Langur.

 Fauna

  • The park is one of the most important habitats of the Endangered Golden Langur, which is endemic to a limited region of India and Bhutan.
  • Other important mammals include the Bengal Tiger, Asian Elephant, Clouded Leopard, Leopard, Gaur, and Wild Water Buffalo.
  • Important bird species include the Great Hornbill, Wreathed Hornbill, and Oriental Pied Hornbill.
