UPSC Current Affairs — Prelims Pointers, Mains Articles & Editorial Analysis

One place for the current affairs that actually matter to your paper. Daily prelims-ready pointers, Mains-oriented articles with the dimensions examiners look for, and editorial analysis that turns the day’s newspaper into usable answer material — all mapped to the UPSC syllabus rather than to the news cycle.

Three Ways We Cover Current Affairs

Prelims and Mains reward completely different treatments of the same news item. Rather than one undifferentiated daily dump, our current affairs coverage is split into three streams — pick the one that matches the stage you are preparing for, or follow all three through the year.

How to Actually Use Current Affairs

Most aspirants read current affairs daily and still cannot use them in the exam hall. The difference is never the volume you read — it is what you do with each item after you read it.

Tag every item to a syllabus head

Before you note anything down, decide where it sits — GS-2 governance, GS-3 environment, Ethics case material. An untagged fact is a fact you will never retrieve under exam pressure.

Split the Prelims and Mains use of the same news

A scheme is a fact set for Prelims and an argument for Mains. Read the pointer for one and the article for the other — that is exactly why the two streams are kept separate here.

Convert it into one written answer

Pick one issue a week and write a full answer or an essay paragraph on it. Current affairs become marks only after they have passed through your own pen at least once.

Revise monthly, not endlessly

Keep your notes short enough to revise the whole month in a single sitting. If a month’s current affairs cannot be revised in one sitting, the notes are the problem, not your memory.

Want Current Affairs Guided by a Mentor?

Our mentorship programs fold current affairs into the daily plan — what to read, what to skip, and how each item turns into a Prelims fact or a Mains argument. New batch starting soon — talk to a mentor.
