• River: The park contains the Kuno River, also called the Upper Kuno River, a tributary of the Chambal River.
• History of Protected Area: Declared a Wildlife Sanctuary in 1981 and a National Park in 2018.
• Vegetation: Dry deciduous forests, savannah-type forests and grasslands.
• Dominant Trees: Kardhai, Salai and Khair.
• Previous Conservation Plan: Kuno was earlier proposed for the introduction of Asiatic lions from Gir, Gujarat.
